Fishing Report

Updated 07/27/19 -  Flows on the San Juan River are continuing to drop, and are currently at about 410 cfs in Pagosa Springs.  This is right at the boundary for sufficient flows and floating below town for most people, so anticipate wading to be the primary means of access on the Juan for the forseeable future, unless monsoon rains temporarily spike river flows.  Make sure you keep an eye on the weather forecasts and flows on the Juan throughout monsoon season, as the Juan is notorious for blowing out.  Expect more people on the river in Pagosa as flows continue to drop, but don't necessarily let this deter you from fishing the town stretch - there are still fish to be caught in this stretch, and the CPW stocked the town stretch the last couple weeks.  Unless you see fish actively rising, expect to fish using predominately nymphs and streamers.

Recommended Flies:

Dries - Stimulator, Foamulator, Chubby Chernobyl.

Nymphs - Pat's Rubberlegs, Twenty-Incher, Prince Nymph, Pheasant Tail, Copper John.

Streamers - Wooly Bugger, Slumpbuster, Conehead Madonna.
